ok chaps our cab went live this week and we can now order Fibre woohoo.

only question I have is that sky can only offer 40meg wheras BT can offer 72.5

it was my understanding they both used the same hardware to deliver fibre so i'm confused as to why bt are able to offer double the speed to sky?

should I expect both to be the same and skys system going wonky or are bt superior in this case

Sky have two Fibre products, the Pro option offers up to 76Mb (at a rather eye-watering £30/month). I think you need to phone them to get it.

PlusNet are well worth a look.

Phoned up sky and had a moan free activation on a estimated speed of 74.5 meg along with 1/2 price sports and movies for 6 months happy enough with that should hopefully get my new modem through next week which I've been told is a plug and play change crazy that a change of box only will net me a 5 fold increase in speed

It won't, it's the fibre cable to your street cabinet that gives you the speed, whereas The the moment you're on a telephone line all the way to the exchange.
