Hi everyone, I've just moved to a house which has a fibre socket BUT no fibre service in the area (FTTC cabinet installed - not powered).

Will normal ADSL work with a filter plugged into the master socket? Or will I need a new socket?

Thanks

I'm assuming you mean a faceplate with an RJ11 socket on your existing phone socket - this is just a copper connection.

I am pretty certain that VDSL filters are the same as ADSL filters so you should just be able to plug your ADSL kit into that and it'll work fine.

Yes, its got the little socket above the normal voice plug.

So, I can dispense with the filter and plug directly in?

Does it need a 2-wire or 4-wire cable?

Thanks

Don't use a filter, plug your phone into the bottom socket if you have one and your DSL cable into the top socket. A filter is a filter it doesn't matter.

It's just a normal faceplate with the filter built right into it. ADSL will work fine with no problems. In fact I saw a little speed bump with ADSL thanks to it compared to using normal filters.
