Fibrus Broadband

I have heard some bad experiences regarding Fibrus, but also a lot of people saying they are OK. I'm in the OK camp, other than the problem I had where my 3rd party email provider did not like the IP address, and refused to send emails. Haven't had that problem for 6 months so maybe that mighta been solved. I'm on 300/100 for 14.99 a month, for 2 years, with no mid contract increases. I also needed to keep the landline, and they were able to do VOIP on the existing number for £10 a month.

I'm in N.I. and that has been their primary market, so maybe the whole install/support team in the UK area that they are now operating in is just totally crappy.

Just been banned out of fibrus user group on facebook ;) I wasn't, rude, abusive, personal. Just asked questions they didn't want their puppet admin to allow. Censoring all sorts of posts on there, and turning off commenting. Utterley disgusting company sponging off government grants. Got to have been backhanders flying round somewhere.

any joy in the end with them @Frankiemac? - my current contract just expired with them - rang up, 1 minute later i was off the phone paying 2 quid less for 500mb fibre than i'd been paying for 300 (27.99 vs 29.99) - i'd been dreading contacting seeing the issues you've been having with them but it couldn't have gone better. guessing they've just bitten off more than they can chew by expanding out of NI.

My 2 year £19.99 a month 300MB contract is expiring in 6 weeks or so. They don't do 300MB package anymore, so good to know there is some wiggle room in the official £29.99 500MB pricing. How did you negoiate the discount or was it offered immediately to you ? Are they sending you out the newwe router ?

No. have joined someone else. Taken it all way to ombudsman as I am trying to go for breach of contract and the difference it has cost me each month above the 19.99 (£32 a month extra with current provider) . Just doing it for the hell of it and everyone I know who has signed up has had loads of crap (about 20 households). IPs being barred from emails etc, amazon spyware routers dropping, speeds not as adverised, and customer service not haveing a clue but hope you have a 'great day'.....

I can't get fibre from anyone else around here and more than happy to do without. Utter scumbag of a company to deal with. Better of with two tin cans and a bit of string.

mad how our experiences have been polar opposites! hope you get a positive from the ombudsman.
Not hiolding my breath. Just doing it to cause as much grief as possible for them. Another company taking a government bung. Levelling up my Jacksy. Thse companies that wanted linces to build fibre should have been made to cover all areas in the first place. We get Micky Mouse running it and Goofy doing the installations. As for the utter snotrags on the phones well ... I have fluished more brains round the u-bend this morning. I've dealt with halfway competent person with them and they were leaving 2 days later !

Just renewed my contract, went from £20 for 300MB to £25 for 500MB (don't do 300MB any more). Nice that my contract renews during their black friday promo, as that is their BF pricing. I just kept the existing router as I use my own mesh system and so I didn't need their (which would have been an extra £10 a month for the renewal). All sorted in 5 mins on the phone, and answered on the 3rd ring.

Other than the occasional email issue, which is because some of the IP ranges they use are on a list that my 3rd party email provider doesn't like, I haven't had a single issue with fibrus, and with them gauranteeing no mid-contract prices, £25 a month guaranteed for 2 years for 500MB is about as good as it gets.

When you changed your fibrus speed, did you get an email telling you the new speed had been applied ? Did you have to turn off the Nokia router for it to take effect.

CSR told me it would be a couple of days, but didn't say anytthing about how / if I'd be informed or what to do. All I got about 6 hrs later was "we are happy you are staying" email.

no, didn't have to do anything and don't think i got an email but could be wrong on that. think i just ran a speedtest the evening after i upgraded and it was all as it should be.

Seriously looking at these guys and their £25 500mb package for when last years Black Friday special ends at the start of next month. Even with cashback and store vouchers it’s probably going to be difficult for anyone else to match that price over 24 months (and Fibrus don’t have in-contract price rises).

I STILL haven't been connected by Fibrus from last years Black Friday deal.. Bunch of fraudulent, government money pinching oxygen thieves.
