Fiesta Hazard light switch.

I have an R reg fiesta, and the switch that actuates the hazard lights seems to have gone.

The indicators work, but if you press the hazard lights button they will either stay on or off.

Anyone know what this is and how I can fix it? I would guess it requires a replacement switch, but it could be the flasher relay?

Anyone know where I might be able to get the parts in this area (North Wales / Cheshire border)?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me, I should really fix it before it has to be MOT'd.

I imagine it's the actual relay that has failed, they simply unplug like a fuse so find out which one it is and then just swap it over.

The entire indicator/hazard units in the steering column often fail on these.

I picked one up from an auction site for less than buying a relay would have cost me. Its a 5 minute job to change.

Cheers people - just what I wanted to know!

I thought it would probably be something simple, and that someone would know what the fix was.

I think it is the relay; I get a voltage across the fuse when I put the switch on (and obviously none when it's off).
Any idea where I can find the flasher relay?

I pulled the fuse box out from under the dashboard, but none of those relays seem to be associated with it. Same with the box in the engine bay.

I'm actually concerned that there may be a bigger problem having looked at the wiring in the fuse box - it looks like someone has taken it upon themselves to relocate some of the connections.
It could just be that they're disconnected for some other reason (i.e. provision for the A/C which it doesn't have, or the CD stacker which it doesn't have)

Actually that's another question - how easy is it to connect a CD stacker up to the factory head unit (that says it's compatible)? Is it a simple process, or does it require the sourcing of a Ford Factory unit at some stupid cost?
