Went to change the rear wiper on my Mum's Mk5 Fiesta earlier and when I unclipped the old wiper half of that plastic retaining clip came with it.

The clip sits in the wiper arm and then the blade obviously clips into the clip.

I do not need a new arm, just the plastic clip?

Any idea if Ford sale them?

It's a clip that you'd struggle to find elsewhere. I seriously doubt there is much demand for a wiper blade clip therefore they won't sell to the consumer for pennies. You're not going to get "good value for money" for something as rare as this, £2.60 is hardly rip-off territory in anyones book.

The guy on the parts counter was apologising for the cost of the part.

They fit one of these to EVERY single fiesta made since 1996, how can you say economies of scale are against me?

Yeah but they'll rarely sell singularly to the consumer. £2.60, it's such a small amount I don't know why I'm arguing about it..

Out of interest how much did you expect to pay?

It's not really the sum of money, £2.60 is not really anything.

I expected it to be supplied with the wiper but otherwise around 50p.

It's just a tiny piece of think, flimsy plastic. Looks like a consumable.

I'm not surprised. What I feel is NOT good value for money is Ford charging me £120 for my first service for what is effectively an oil change- but hey it has to be done to keep the warranty... Oh and they charge an extra £10-£20 to check the paintwork in order to keep your rust warranty
