Don't play it like PES. Its not as heavily focussed on dribbling. Look for simple passes and encourage players to make runs with the left shoulder button. Is there a particular area you're struggling in?

Scoring is the main part , can get the ball up to the box but can't score.Is there a through ball button??

Also is better to go wide and cross in , or go through the middle??

I find it better to go through the middle, lots of short passes. Through ball is Y, turn it to semi in the control options and you get control over direction and power. Takes a bit of practice but it lets you play some really clever balls. As for finishing practice in the arena with ronaldinho to get a feel for how the shooting system works.

You get greater control over where the ball is placed when shooting, I noticed just how poor auto was when I played on another 360 that was on default controls. I was putting it in the stands with shots that would normally be on target.

Also 1 on 1 with the keeper just tap the shot button to poke the ball under the keeper, gets you more goals than blasting it.
 
Mmmm just played 4 games on semi pro and never scored in any of them drew 3 though :(

How do actually beat players is there a special knack to it ??
 
Don't try and turn sharply, or be able to outmanouvre people whilst sprinting, always slow down if you want to use tricks and jink by them, sprinting makes pretty much anything (passes, shots, turning) take twice as long, which is fair enough. :)
 
I've had this game for a while and the best tip I can give you is DO NOT give away a free kick within 30 yards of your goal, as whoever it is it'll just end up getting blasted into the back of the net. Stupid game. :rolleyes:

Only ever happened to me once so that just isn't a worthy input to this thread.

Depends who the player is your controlling, obvious someone who is quick i is possible to run past the opposition. Best bet of advice is to use pass and run, opens up a whole load of space and options when looking for yoro next pass.

The more you play on Live the more you will see how oppositions play, take this and you'll start to improve.
 
Slightly off topic, but i'm having problems connecting to the ea servers and not getting many games. Is it the same for everyone else?

ps. I just got thrashed 4-0 by someone. boooooo :(

Not had any issues today. EA servers were down for about an hour last week, that's. Never have any issues getting games.
 
hmm, i guess it might be my end. Most times when i try to connect to a quick unranked match it tells me ive been disconnect. Not to worry tho :)
