If someone is playing fairly then yes, it is a bit harsh, but if they're doing everything in their power to win then the moral high ground doesn't come with many victories.

But it's not cheating at all... it's clearly within the laws of the game...

I agree the fact that there is no carrying over of the red card has a little impact in a players decision making, but still he's doing nothing wrong by doing it.

If you can't capitalise on it and score from the free kick, so be it.

It's frustrating, but it happens.
 
I do it all the time, what matters is the score at the end of the game imo. If you score the free kick then fair play, if not then I made the right choice.

Haha, yeah it happened again last night, but at this point I was 3 - 0 down and would have been a consilation only. Even more annoying!

I think I just need to play against mates only tbh. I am just addicted to ranked matches. I must prove Spurs are the greatest team of all time! ;)
