With such a huge demo download... for a moment I thought EA might actually have released the same game for every system... but again, no...

This game is appalling on PC and genius on PS3.

A graphics engine that runs poorly on my system and has worse lighting than the PS3 version and worse animations... My rig is Q6600, 8GB RAM, GTX275. You'd have thought it'd run properly maxed out... no...

The main thing I don't really understand is how they can build, what looks like, a completely different engine purely for the PC that doesn't work on the target system. I mean really, who is doing the quality control at EA? Pretty much every other cross platform game looks and plays the same on every platform... this PC "conversion" is basically a completely different game that plays like one of the FIFA games from about 7 years ago on PS2.

The only positive I can take from the demo experience I've just had is that the character models are top notch, possibly a little better than any of the close up shots I noticed on the PS3 version...

At least you can't complain about a straight console to PC port.

This has been specifically messed up for the PC. Nice of them to make the effort.

Same as PES - all rehashed rubbish. A new menu, new song, new players and still the same old boring rubbish.

It's not the same as PES at all. Konami at least go to the effort of putting out a decent PC version that uses the same graphics engine as the PS3 & 360 get.

EA don't deem the PC worthy of this effort so just do a basic update to their old PS2 engine from about 5 years ago.

er seem to remember that the last PES sucked on the PC. Only saving grace is that it usually gets modded to within an inch of its life to make it half decent.

They haven't made a different engine for PC. They're just re-using the old engine, same as last year.

The excuse was that there supposedly aren't enough high spec gaming PCs with multi-core CPUs to warrant porting the PS3/360 game to PC. If you google it you'll see that there was the same controversy last year.

Are you able to use a gamepad with the PC version without hacking game files or using an app like xpadder as we had to with Fifa 09?

Bloomin joke, won't go near 10 even if it worked perfectly! Every few years I'll update PES and keep it.

Not quite - as seen by the posts above. New graphics do not make a good game. The game play is absolutely awful. Cross the ball and keep stabbing the head button which automatically aims for you.

It's sad to say that I felt I had more control over what happened in SWoS and Kick Off 2 and that was over a decade ago. In fact I'd much prefer to play either of those (and actually still do).

The last 'okay' football game I played on the PC I seem to recall was Actua Soccer 2 and that had it's flaws.

I bought Fifa 09 recently and it worked straight off with the 360 controller?

If they ported the PS3/360 and released it on the PC, I don't think anyone would complain at all :p

What gets me is this "we need to make it accessible for all users, people with low end machines and those with high end machines" when they're using what looks like 7 year old technology in FIFA10 and it's so poorly coded that it stutters and gives you frame rate issues, the Antialiasing doesn't look correct and on FIFA09 if you had AA/AF above a certain level players turned transparent.

It's just utter tripe, they should just not release a PC version of FIFA or just straight port the console version. Why they want EA Canada to spend 6 months plus developing a pile of crap, when they could move 70% of the PC developement onto the consoles - perfect the game and really nail it... then the other 30% port it to the PC.

The graphics on the consoles are superb, and the gameplay is phenominal this year - a port wouldn't be a bad thing for FIFA PC... it would be a God send.

Not even bothered with the demo, the first time I read that Fifa10 for the PC will not be the same as the console version I decided that my money for a PC footie game will be going to konami again, at least they kinda bother, EA could just as well not bother if they're not going to make it better
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, watch it ! It's my money I'm wasting !

Yeah, like a company would purposely mess something up they intend to sell  get a grip

Well they have not gone out of there way to make it a good game.

They've just gotten an old engine jazzed up the graphics a bit and thats about it. Added a couple of gimmicks which they can try and sell as new content. All of which is basically a massive failure.

Where are the games where you can properly manage a team from conference to premiership. Buying players, etc. Being a player manager. Playing as the team. It's like you have Championship Manager for the management side then you need to buy another game for the rest. The last game that combined them both brilliantly was SWoS and as already said that was over a decade ago.
