FIFA 14 Thread

The demo feels... Odd... Not entirely sure if I like it or not although at least they didn't entirely just re-skin and re-launch Fifa 13, and I'm considering trying Pro Evo (not bought it since 2008 I think).
 
I was surprised how different it felt, I thought after seeing videos it would just be a reskin too but it feels much more like a football game now.

Exactly.

If you can't pass the ball around and score, you can't play the game. I can score goals with build up play, but I'm still not very good at FIFA because i'm not very good at FIFA - it's not the game that's at fault, it's me.

I can't take chances, I give the ball away too easy by trying to play too fast at times, and I lose concentration.

That said, I have only played the game for 2 years not 5-10 years like many have.

You have to work at it.

I have a mate who is rabid FIFA evangelical and has been ever since FIFA 08.

His message tot he world on his X-Box live profile goes something along the lines off...

"Premiership team and pace abuse exploiters, weak shots and scoring from lame rebounds.....This is FIFA 13"

And even if I was 'rubbish' on FIFA (i'm not), how does me being rubbish mean that I can put the pad down when playing against the AI and come back 5 minutes (real time) later to find that nothing has changed on screen except the timer?

The AI in FIFA is shockingly bad and if you cant see that.....then I dont give a damn.
 
I not sure I like it, think it plays just like fifa 13. Downloaded the pes 14 demo on PS3 apart from the graphic looking horrible. The gameplay is very good defo worth checking out.

Wish they released the PC demo before release :( God dam hackers

No I think rather you have no idea how we play or try to play. I prefer playing football and not rush and go arcadey football that is FIFA with massive bugs and exploits.

Online seasons is rubbish, it's easy to get promoted in the lower leagues, only tougher once you hit 4> leagues. I bought this game mainly for pro clubs, every other mode is awful, the same was with pro clubs, same rubbish rush and go football. Every match is the same repetitive rubbish, and everything is automated, there is no skill involved in this game.

They always are the same, just noobs who fall for the same marketing tripe and clichés EA comes up with every year. Then once they play they get the placebo effect of thinking its different, then convince themselves it is. I know cos I used to do the same, never again though.

I know.

I go offshore in 5 days (for 6 fkn weeks) and would really love a bit of brand new Pro Evo to take with me....time extender patch applied.

Konami are retards worrying about modders adding teams and unlocking limits in their demo on PC when people can just bootleg the whole game upon release. The only way to really protect thier product form bootleggers across all platforms is to implement a cracking online mode. This is something that Konami have never really managed to do however.
 
my main gripe with this game is the pitch, it just looks terrible, what happened to the the grass ? crossing is miles better as is heading.
 
I'm finding the slower pace much more enjoyable. As Suarez said above, I hope they keep it this way because the UT in the demo feel's much more 'season's paced'.

I'll be buying and playing. Not because I fall for the marketing tripe, but purely because the EA servers and online system (as poor as they can be at times) are 100x better than the Konami online stuff. If Konami and PES had online modes to rival FIFA, it would be a harder choice. But for now my money is with FIFA.

well i agree that fifa has a much better online game modes and system, but the game itself lets it down, and for konami there online system sucks, hopefully they have improved it for this new engine, if not then i am not too bothered as the offline mode is a very enjoyable and high engrossing experience. I will miss pro clubs mode though.
 
Its defo a step up thats for sure :)

I play for Last Resort FC , still a few positions that might be available in the team, if there is any serious club players out there, who do play to a strict schedule , we do have fun also, good banter on TS ,
