FIFA 14

41212 is just a jack of all trades formation really. And a LOT of people play it so most people will be able to defend it easy enough just through sheer practice.

433(2) is the best all round formation IMO. Back 4, 1 CDM and wingers but they all have strengths and weaknesses.

If FIFA 13 4231 was in the game, I'd likely use that. Or if 4231(2) had the LM/RM as LAM/RAM rather than bog standard LM/RM then that would be good.
 
New tactics, different style of play, just won 5-1.

I was kinda holding team contain pretty much always before... Jockey is so much more effective. Just be patient and let the attackers come to you.

I'm considering Suarez and Aguero up front.
 
Agh what a difference... 2nd win of 4-1.

It was the defending... I was running all of my defence out of position which made me concede lots.
 
Urgh Ribery such a confusing player does amazing things and is like Ronaldo without the strength but other time he's clean through and take a blunderous touch and gets reeled in. Frustrating. The other top players I use will 9 times out of 10 reel a through ball in, in their stride and maintain speed.

His shot is better than I thought but it's not a Reus shot.
 
Suarez and Jovetic up front and doing fantastic for me at the moment but as always I want to go one better and I'm going to throw Aguero to the side of Suarez. :)

Will be interesting.
 
So I am trying to find an ideal formation, I just cant seem to do well with 41212 so having done some reading I am thinking of running with 451-2

I have my core team which is below its just the players to slot into the 2 x Cm slots and the ST role I am struggling with.

IF Fernandinho, IF Ramsey & Eto'o out of the shown people, with 451 you want a HM MM and HH CM setup ideally, hate to blow his horn again, but I'd love Dembele at RCM, De Bruyne at LCM if you had an open field on the lot, both god passers, tough, good playmakers, and then you'd be best with Jovetic up top, 451-2 really isn't about pace or quick counters, its all about regimented buildup.

Snap, I was playing and losing against people that were clearly pretty poor at the game and have the fast majority of possession and chances. It's likely that me having so much possession was counting against me as the other player inevitably had all of their players behind the ball making it tight. However, I still created chances and everything seemed to go against me. Scuffed shots, wonder saves, amazing last ditch tackes ( clearly AI assisted :rolleyes:)but....

I persevered and finally won! :D:D:D:D

3-0 then 4-0! seems like I have got over my losing streak at last. Almost don't want to play again in case I lose :p
