FIFA 14

Just changing my squad around a bit Rex so can't play right away.

I do like 433-2 but I can't help but feel there's something missing. I end up going back to 41212 every single time.

41212 really is a rubbish formation. Stop blaming your defeats on your formation and take responsibility that you're either not playing well or you got outplayed.

Formation is a small part of the equation really. What work rates you got in midfield? I like H/M M/H H/H in that order across midfield. You can't go forward -> forward -> forward in that formation you have to come back to get your midfield making runs beyond or to the edge of the box.

I used to do that but then I felt dirty but I agree. I regressed last night as I was generally seething, mainly about my Robbery team, so after being 4-0 up and defending his kick off glitch easily each time he scored from a double rebound. He shush me as well. So I kick off glitched him and scored with Aguero nodding it in over Courtois. Played him the violin.

Didn't help my anger levels though :D.

I only do it versus people doing it to me for lolz.

Apart from him being a bit of an oil tanker to turn I agree. I got his 81 IF for 55k prior to the upgrade so in using his UPIF now. Reminds me of TOTS Vidal from last year.

UP Boateng too.

Tom i personally believe seasons is a poor poor way to gauge how good you are. Its fun but the times you come up against a decent well rounded opponent are slim.

It's his strength that's just so impressive, he just goes through people.

On a 20-odd game winning streak with the following:

Sirigu
Maicon - Silva - Ramos - Marcelo
Melo - Xavi
Lucas - Neymar - Osvaldo
Pato

Pretty good side, not convinced on Xavi though, I don't really use his passing enough.

You not hitting those pitch length through balls? I liked Xavi when I used him but he was in a team I didn't like so got culled.

Willian is good for LM. Plays better than his stats say.

He ain't much of an upgrade. Comparing in game to in game that is.

I miss him when he isnt in the back 4, very rare he makes mistakes and dispossess the best of them though to be honest i loved him before the UP so i may not be impartial on my views.

Dante on the other hand doesnt seem to be doing much for me at the moment, maybe its because Boateng is outshining him so much as the first bundas team i had he seem to be very solid..

Yeah I use UP Boateng myself. He was only 12k for me so wasn't bothered too much about the minimal stat increase. I sacked Dante off for Hummels. Guy is so good. If he had 75 pace he'd be up there just below TOTY Ramos.

Can you offer an explanation as to why you think it's a really rubbish formation?

I've still got Willian and must have played 60 odd games with him, I'm just not a fan at all.

No I don't use Xavi for long balls, I try to look for them when he's on the ball but there are never any runners.

It's a jack of all trades formation. Its trademark attack is a one two between the CAM and/or ST's. You get overrun in midfield with it using anything other than a medium/high defensive work rate CAM. The LM/RM tuck in and don't even play as proper wide men which hurts you defensively and offensively. It's popular due to reasons 1 and 2 above.

Willian for me is great on the ball, just off the ball he is a bit weak compared to others, at least in my BPL sides, haven't compared him a great deal in the Brazil sides though.

Just to add colour me impressed with Hernanes, he really is a all rounder.

4/5 with amazing passing, dribbling and shooting stats. Also not bad defensively.

He's a cheap Gareth Bale with a better weak foot. He's that good.
