FIFA 14

That was a really good game kanifee, very challenging :). Literally had to grind out the result in extra time :)

On now if anyone is up for a game.

Not played anyone on here in ages.

Aye very good game. Ill be on tomorrow for a few, literally only had time for one this morning. Work has been a nightmare last couple of weeks.

Think I am getting onto something here. Cheaper the team/lower level the better it plays and the less EA clearly cheat you out of a game.

My teams have cost no more than 15k and they play awesome when ever the opponents team has expensive players/IF's/TOTY and S.

So **** that it handicaps people for having a better team. Them who have spent a 100's getting ronaldo, messi etc have really been screwed.

You have a point, to an extent, sadly the extent of which is when it leaves your head.

Sure, you play with a lower rated team and decimate higher teams, we've all done it and we've all played equally low end teams and got botty burnt!

Yep, there is some weird stuff that happens, but I wouldn't say it is all down to something like team levels, I've play 89 rated full legend teams where you can't do a thing, and I've played 89 rated legend teams where you can't do anything but the right thing, its random with playing people of varying abilities etc.. and there IS something going on, but 2 facts remain:

  • You win with a low end/low cost team, you notice it more.
  • You lose with a high end/high cost team, you notice it more.

Had you won those games with a higher end team, would you think anything of it? Or just expect it? Maybe even becoming complacent in your mind as you "Have the better team"

I know I have!

As above, I used to believe all these handicap/rubberbanding things until I stopped caring whether I lose/win, since then Ive enjoyed all of my games and just laugh at my loses :)

This thread is heading into confirmation bias, I dont think EA have a physics engine that really delivers anything like the real world physics we expect in extreme circumstances so when it hiccups I think thats where we see these issues.

No one is saying there arent issues, I just dont think it falls under one umbrella issue outside of EA just not making an engine that is capable of covering all circumstances - it just seems to brain fart to a noticeably degree.

That withstanding, when it impacts you I think its more than easy to rage and shift blame elsewhere...

EDIT: Personally Im finding this game just feels hollow lose or win, it just doesnt feel like my ability affects that as much as Id like.

ps3ud0

It used to feel like the player made more of a difference. So much is AI-controlled these days that I don't feel I'm fully in charge.

They have made a more 'realistic' football game but one that has reduced the players' influence over outcomes
