FIFA 18

Built this (after a sub):

Begovic
Semedo - Koscielny - Rudiger - Rose
Rakitic - Bakayoko - Gueye
Dembele
Mbappe - Martial

Top 3 are great fun, so much pace, Dembele is so nimble and his 5% WF is really nice.
 
Just won the DKT using this team. Everyone starts on 10 chem. Florenzi in CM and Perisic at ST are just brilliant. Belotti also seems good for his price. Packed Broz and was gonna sell when he goes out of packs, I may keep hold of him as he's also decent!

Locadia review!!

So with Engine he's pretty decent, nimble enough and just quick enough to do some damage. Plus his passing is now good.

Has an amazing ability to hit the post. Done it 4 times in 3 games. In the last game i ran in from an angle and powered one in with his weaker foot, hitting the bar bouncing down and then into the roof of the net lol.

Oh yeah depay is a beat too wins headers and can really run with the ball. Fifa must have erased his old Trafford memories from their brains.

Oh yeah Locadia always gets man of the match and like 10.0 rating.
 
I really do find this game baffling, EA spend god knows much money/time on making it so 'realistic' but the game is just far to easy to score. Every game has on average of 7 goals in it, it's just rather basic.

Frustrating as hell, decent game to start with just slightly tweak keepers so they have 2 hands and the game would have been golden. Instead they go back to AI defending and auto lunges, pre patch you could use drag backs, step overs etc, now try it the AI takes the ball from you.

I'll wait to hear your thoughts whenever you decide to jump head first into the WL;)

For a laugh Andy just try not controlling any defender, even if the player has the ball in the box, more often than not the ball gets blocked or your CB performs a hero challenge.

Also what formation you playing ?
 
Trying different ones really but seem to be swapping between 4231 (wide) and 4321. I seem to be absolutely battering players but they somehow make it a nervy finish by managing to score despite having naff all of the game, its just that easy to create a goal scoring through ball and the keepers are pathetic, still. Having trouble getting out of Div 8 at the mo! Eeek.
 
It’s baffling why they didn’t say anything about defending in the patch notes, it’s blatantly obvious it’s been tweaked so hordes of kids don’t stop playing and opening packs with fifa points.

That being said gorilla seems to think it hasn’t been touched and is nothing like 17’s auto defending. Seems pretty strange for the best player last year not to notice it.

I just got into Div 7. I’ve only just realised you can hold circle to power up standing tackles... :p

Anyone in Div 1 yet?
 
Got into Div 1 then got relegated to 2, not played much online seasons since, I’ll mainly play draft as it’s pretty easy to at least break even each time.
 
Notice more blocks but that's it. That said I jacked at silver in the weekend league and not even bothering with squad battles this week. Squad battles is mind numbingly boring to me I find myself zoning out purely due to boredom. Problem is I feel like I'm missing out by not playing it.

Weekend league was killing me off slowly.. Not sure if you guys have experienced much but momentum in this game (yeah, momentum comments coming back again) is horrific. I legitimately lead the first 10 games and lost 5.. It happens a lot in divisions too, once my opponent gets a goal I can assure you another one is coming.

Long shots are too easy to score and it boils my p***

Kick off goals are back with a bang.

Aside from that it would be a good game.

You were in the Weekend league? It didn't show up on in the usual friends leader board:confused:

I'm unsure on long shots, my keeper seems to save them all, have you got any clips of them to see what angles they are shooting from? After thinking about it more, it seems AI doesn't do a great deal until you are in the penalty box then it seems to tackle for you.

Best results for me are second man press and then block the passing lanes, one thing you do have to give EA some credit for is when you tell a player to stay back they actually stay back now!
 
I need to re-learn how to defend. Holding X and using aggressive slide tackles isn't working too well on FIFA 18. :D Seems like I'm going to need L2...

I sold Gabriel Jesus for a small profit so will probably get Morata shortly... he seems to be the stand out all round striker around 35k.
