FIFA 18

Played a couple of games so far, initial impressions are that it doesn't feel massively different but it is more arcadey. Every long shot has gone in so far. :p

Are you playing Ultimate team? I've played a few more games now and there are a few flaws in it to be honest. Sure they will sort the game play out.

No, Online Seasons. Maybe that varies a bit. It felt quite a bit different to the exhibition match (online always does though).

I've played quite a few more games now and it's actually quite good, I like it. Quite different to FIFA 17, in a good way. I think with further tweaking it could easily be the best yet.

People say that every year. :p For me, Pro Evo just lacks polish, if they brought it all up to a higher standard I think it would interest more people.
I just don't find it gripping enough, I guess it doesn't help I've been playing FIFA for 10+ years, difficult to adapt after such a length of time.

It does lack a bit of polish, and lacks UT. However, I ultimately just get angry with UT (although when I buy FIFA I will spend hours on it!). So actually, buying Pro Evo would probably help my sanity as well as possibly being a better game.

Although who am I kidding - I've not bought a FIFA game since '15. I miss UT :(

Has there been much said about the career mode this year? I'm not really bothered about Ultimate Team or the other online modes, I've seen the new negotiations system but if that's how every transfer is going to be handled I can see it becoming very old quickly. I played a few seasons of career on 17 and on professional and lower it's an easy high scoreline for me every time, but on World Class and Legendary the CPU just park the bus while offering nothing up the attacking end and you usually draw or win by the odd goal. I did dabble with the PES 2018 online beta and while it was a bit rough the player faces were far better imo, the animations were a lot more fluid and realistic and they've finally fixed the godawful dribbling and running animations. I would say the shooting in PES is nowhere near as satisfying as FIFA and the ball seems to float rather than move with any velocity. Not sure which one to pick up, every year the FIFA demo feels different to the finished product, if I'm only playing offline for the most part then I might be inclined to go with PES for a year instead.
