FIFA 18

The gameplay from the demo was okay, 17 felt more fluent, I'd get 18 for the comical 'moo' of ronaldos celebration even though I don't play Real Madrid, but I'm not paying 50 plus for that novelty. Much prefer 17 though only play online now.
 
Had some frustrating games this evening, is 4321 easy to expose or something?

I didn’t have much chance to counter attack and the opposition just waltzed straight through my midfield and defence repeatedly. I didn’t have that issue with 41212 (with CM’s). I think a CDM could be important for me... I had Nainggolan there last time and he was monstrous.

Might have to try some new formations...
 
Really enjoying 3-5-2 at the moment, seems to be working well in seasons. Hamsik at CAM is crazy good.

Very poor connections tonight though, perfect latency level going in and then after about 20 minutes ingame it starts to lagg a bit.

Either I'm getting matched against easier players or I'm getting better, Decent WL and now won 5 straight games in Div 5. I suspect its the former and waiting for it to go horribly wrong :p
 
I splashed out on Luis Hernandez as I was sick of sitting on coins. Of course it has made me no better going from Izqueirdo, Jesus and Bolasie to Martial, Hernandez and Dembele.

Hernandez’s finishing is something else. I mashed together all of the 11 goals he scored in 5 games in the video below. His medium attack rates meant he wasn’t up as much as I want him to be but he was so clinical with the little chances he had. I lost the majority of the games he scored in which is depressing but hey ho.

Won a match 6-5 last night, that was an interesting one.

I noticed that actually setting players individual instructions actually helps quite a lot! :D

See him mentioned a lot on the main forum when people ask which icon striker, I thought all his versions were H/M workrates? His prime card might not be too expensive depending when it comes out.
 
Oh, you're right, that is good then, he just seemed to sit back but maybe because I didn't have him set to running in behind. I didn't have that many shots but the ones he did were in that vid, proper clinical. I used Kluivert, Shevchenko, Crespo, Owen etc in 16 and he seems so much more effective.
 
I'm finding Div 5 quite tough too, I can win but it's hard work most of the time. WL was actually a bit easier than the games I had last night, although I had my 41212 team for that which it turns out was pretty solid.

A lot of people use 4321 but it seems like you have to play on the counter and have the midfield on the defensive, there's no way you can reliably defend 3 attackers bearing down on your defence, the defence at times are SO hard to control it's unreal, they're all over the place. If you can't counter, the opponent just drops his defenders and midfield deep and then the 3 attackers can't really get in behind very well. Whenever the opponents started pushing forward I was able to score reliably, but that didn't happen often.

I found with Nainggolan ahead of the defence, he was everywhere and killed off the majority of attacks, maybe I should get him back and use some sort of 4231 with CDM's, or 433 with one CDM.

In my 41212 I had the CDM on stay back when attacking and the strikers on get in behind, whether it made a big difference I'm not sure.
 
Trying to come up with a more structured team, inspired by Andy's Hernandez (who I didn't even know was on the game).

I've noticed Suarez is around 500k now, but he's not the quickest...

Could it be better to drop a fast striker to CAM rather than having an actual midfielder? Kovacic has OK pace though. Is Oblak the best La Liga keeper?

I'd say you want a CF in the CAM position so a quick striker who will run through, Kovacic I didn't like in 17, not sure much has changed in 18? I'd try get a cheap, fast la liga striker with high attacking and try him there.

I was thinking Bakambu but he's M/M. I have Ben Yedder still so will probably try him.
