FIFA 18

Hoping to God that KDB gets POTM. People seem to think Sane but I can’t see it.

His standard card has been great for me and if he gets POTM already got his standard version so hopefully that’s one base covered.
 
Cant believe how bad the game is :( 3 games in the weekend league was enough for me this week. 1-2 both losses in the 90th minute. Fed up of 180 degree shots, passes, defenders making mistakes, balls going through players bodies, pace abuse, Ultra D Counter attack, Jesus.

Its just a shambles, such a shame. Looking over on Reddit it seems to be a general consensus this patch is make or break i think for a lot of people.
 
I'll finish elite in the monthlies but can't see me playing the game much more until EA confirm whether this scripting crap people have found in a patent is in the competitive online modes or not, I'm not playing a game as frustrating as this if there's dynamic sliders that affect how well your team will perform, it's utter dross for something they're trying to portray as an esport and something they've tried to hide for years by banning discussions on their official forum.

It's an EA patent there is no proof its even Fifa or any EA game. Companies apply patents all the time and never use it, although saying all that nothing would surprise me with EA.

Which is why I said I'll wait till it's addressed as it sure looks like something that would apply to this game looking at the text.
 
CR7 is a beast but it’s awkward trying to get the ball to him all the time, if the other player is good it’s difficult to abuse him and I’m not one for skill moves (never been a regular user of them).

Tempted to have a stronger overall team instead as the game is a pain and no matter how good CR7 is, goalkeepers still turn into gods against him. :mad: I’ve had him up front with IF Sanabria and he’s almost as effective for me :o

I need to try out Messi first before buying but for finishing and creating danger I think Messi + Suarez + Griezmann will be better than Ronaldo, for me at least...

There is definitely some scripting, as soon as I take the lead, the other player becomes significantly stronger. It feels like it anyway.

It's not just the WL, Squad Battles is a joke as well.

90th minute of my game to secure Elite 2, I have a corner, I pass it short to Lallana, I then try and pass to the player right beside me but Lallana boots it back in to my half and they run on and score. They go on to score a 92nd header to beat me :(

Edit: I watched a few minutes of Huge Gorilla on Twitch yesterday and he was just embarrassed at the state of the game.
 
I'd say there's a skill gap, still.

Made it to the dizzying heights of gold 2 with one game to spare; only played 5 games with his boosted stats but Scream Perisic has been a Godsend. If you want a Calcio A CAM that isn't Dybala I can thoroughly recommend him, 5* weak foot is also dreamy.

Main issue for me has been breaking defences down and my own defending; come up against a truckload of possession based players who are impossible to get the ball off, most of the I was playing 60/40 games, not biting with pulling my defenders out but still getting punished.

Looking like I'm good for Elite 2 SB as well
 
The main issue I have at the moment is defending. I can stop players running at me quite well now, but if its 3 attackers vs my 4 defenders, they can just pass it directly to their strikers in my box and it's really awkward to stop them.

I could read the game fine when defending on 17 and rarely conceded much, but it just feels very disjointed now. It would be fine if passes couldn't be zipped around the box so easily.
 
Ground my way to 18 wins, got Mané and Walker in who both seem very decent. Probably going to get Alba at LB as well as Rose really doesn't do it for me.

Edit: Has anyone played this mess tonight? It's running the fastest it's been so far. A slow passing game is running at 100MPH. It's in a truly appalling state and should be pulled until it's fixed.

Even the menus and animations are running stupidly fast.

Finished on 17 WL wins, considering the first 20 games were a disaster that's better than I was expecting.

This Ronaldo bloke isn't half bad...
