FIFA 18

The whole game's trash. Just played my last WL game and I conceded a 90th minute goal, a 105th minute goal and lost in the 120th minute. He had 4 shots to my 17 and scored 5 goals.

10 wins from 40 games, down from 16 from 40 last weekend. Unless the patch completely changes the game I'm done for another few years, it's worse than Fifa 15 and that was the worst online experience of my life until now.
 
Nothing much from my SB rewards again, more than anything I think its just a refill of consumables. Not too fussed though, played FUT for years and this is by far the best to be able to build up coins and buy players you want without pumping tonnes of money into the game.
 
I don't mind losing to better people, I don't actually care that much about winning as long as the game's enjoyable and this isn't for me.

Best game I've had so far was an 8-0 defeat last weekend to some guy that wrecked me with Ibra, he completely dominated me from the first minute to the last and I barely touched the ball but that's the exception rather than the norm. The majority of games I've played have been against people that spam the same few buttons and I switch off as soon as that happens. There's no skill involved but all they're doing is exploiting broken game mechanics that reward that style of play. I tried playing the same way last weekend and it's very effective but it's not for me.

As for this weekend, the servers have been even worse than last weekend. Speed up lag resulted in me forfeiting at least half of my games within the first few minutes rather than wasting my time playing something more like Air Hockey than football.

Disagree.. Huge step back in skill gap this year. Anyone can pick up this game and pass pin point accurately Tiki taka style, score 30 yarders, pace abuse and let the AI defend for them. As people have mentioned scripting/momentum seems even more apparant in this game, I've claimed it was in the previous fifas too. But my god, after a goal is scored, 45th/90th minute there's so much cheese it's embarrassing. Players go from being there rating to feeling like 56's. Let's not forget, I and everyone else has been on the side of getting EAids too and winning games that wasn't deserved.

Had a week off work over kids half term so managed to get all the SB games in. Finished Elite 2 which I was pleased with, 45 games........

Played the first ever week of SB got elite 1 and got nothing so stopped ever since. Mind numbingly boring for no reward

God glad now I give this one a miss. Sounds a right mess.

Also the 90min thing was in fifa17 also. As well as the 2-0 lead.
 
The game is pretty garbage to be fair, even as a relatively good player it’s just not that enjoyable and it seems like most of the pros and more mature members of the community over on the official forums feel the same. Every year the game has a specific way to play but this year it’s just completely mind numbing, can come out of a WL game having won comfortably and just not want to play another match. Skill gap between gold 3 and elite 1 has been completely destroyed, it’s very easy to lose games still against opponents who are obviously not that good at the game or even comeback against an elite player who’s better than you but you can milk the kick off exploit and momentum in your favour.

I get this sometimes too some games feel super fast where the ball is flying all over the place and some super slow..... why does fifa do this - it should be a consistant experience.... game speed should not change!
 
I must be the only person, who's enjoying it:p It is what it is, defending is the same as last year, get some decent midfield and run around like a headless chicken blocking passing lanes.

Either way I've sold a few icons to hopefully cash in while I'm away for 2 weeks, anyone remember when prices fell for black Friday last year ?
 
EA just a massive cash cow, they put momentum and handicaps in the game as people are dumb enough to think they need to spend more money on the game to get that better player, when in fact it’ll probably work for a few games then you’ll be back in the EA rut and looking at buying more Fifa points.

Win win for EA.

Its pretty rare I agree with you, but I think you've hit the nail on the head. Most games you get "stitched up on" if you watch back you've actually just played poorly. Its got its faults and I've moaned about them, but I think its just a case of adapting and picking times when the servers aren't dogpoo!
 
Hmm had some random moments last night in online.

4-2 up against one guy he scores 3 goals in the last 15 mins including a shonky last minute header and then in injury time I had 3 shots in a crowded box and scored to make it 5-5.

Another game was 2-2 and lost a last minute to a header from a free kick. It's like why won't my defenders get near the ball?

Another I was losing like 5-2 and pulled it back to 5-4 if I'd had an extra 10 mins probably would have won.

I need to learn the out if box positioning to score long ranger shots that appear unsaveabl3 as everyone else seems to be exploiting this
 
Surely the direction the ball was spinning it should have bounced out anyway, but yeah how it did it was bizarre.
