It definitely does. Some keepers are just awful, perhaps too short or bad diving and don't save simple ones that go too high for them.
My best keeper so far was donnarumms followed by IF Lecomte. I've tried the German ones, not Neuer though. Italian ones and premiership ones.

For goalkeepers in the PL it's basically:

1. IF De Gea
2. De Gea
3. Courtois
4. Everyone else

Cech can be decent and Ederson is actually good but a bit short. Lloris didn't seem that great considering his price. Begovic is always annoying to play against and dirt cheap.

I think for my new team I'm going with Neymar, Mbappe and IF Jesus as a front 3 in a 4-1-2-1-2(2). Just need to balance out of the rest of the team now.

Maybe if Ederson gets IF then he'll be more useable. I notice Courtous and Begovic are both 199cm.

Lloris is much shorter but better stats than say Cech but doesn't save as many shots and parties everything back out.
 
I've used Lloris and De Gea the most and don't rate either. Lloris lets a lot of shots go under his body and De Gea is an OG machine. He's knocked in 3 corners alone against me today and just this second did the same for me in a Squad Battle. Neither are worth the coins imo when you have the likes of Butland going for a few hundred coins. I bought OTW Ederson a few weeks ago so will try him next.
 
Should've added, Lloris was outstanding in penalty shootouts. Felt a lot quicker and agile than his stats suggest. De Gea feels like a tank in comparison.

Edit: Manged to win 17 out of 24 Squad Battle games on Legendary last weekend and ended up with 70,000+ points. Haven't won a single game on Legendary this week, won three on penalties on Pro and lost the rest. I'm sat on 18000 points with the same team and playing no different.

Dang. Won 3 today on world class facing a lot of Thierry Henry. Two were penalty shoot outs lol.i was playing with formations but had to change back to 352 at half time to avoid losing. I also discovered this week if winning with 352 but in danger if losing change to 4231 to defend more functionally and beat down the cup on the counter attack.

This one in single player league at legendary difficulty made me want to say eat that Kasper!!

Yeah, I use 4-2-3-1 for Squad Battles and have gone from winning most games 3-0 or 4-1 to losing 2-1 or 1-0. Difficulty this week is ridiculous compared to last week so whoever said the difficulty increases depending on how well you did the previous week seems to be correct.

I suffered exactly the same at the start of last week and didn't bother playing Thursday or Friday because I was so sick of the AI cheating, this is on another level though. My players can't play football in this mode, move to Seasons and it's normal again.
 
There is some real BS going on with the AI in squad battles.

Just played on legendary, had a bronze centre back called Keeble out pacing IF Sterling.

Understand the difficulty is ramped up but the player stats should remain the same, seems to me stats are boosted as well as speed and intelligence etc.
 
Weekend league is such a borring slog every one plays the same way. People just seem to go to youtube and try copy how the pros play. 90% of goals are low driven shots across the keeper 90% of formations is 41212 with either pacey st or wingers up front. And every one just holds LT in the center on def with bakyoko and lets the a.I do the rest then just try the same counter attack goals. Will they ever make a fifa thats not about whos best at abusing the so called meta fifa at times doesn't feel like a football game at all just elaborate game of rock paper scissors.
 
yeah the games pretty awful imo, its no surprise pro's and youtubers aren't happy about the game. Cheese on this is a whole nother level, i hated 16 and this isn't far from being as bad. Wish they would grow some balls and revert back to manual gameplay. I feel EVERY game i fight the computer aswell as my opponent. Kick off goals, momentum switch, AI defending, penalties being conceded which arent even penalties, goal keeping mistakes, defenders making mistakes the list goes on.
 
lol, if thats aimed at me, im no worse than i was on 17. Its geared towards casuals/kids. Try pressing the pass button with no direction, it goes exactly to a player every time. Maybe thats why you like it ;)
 
Even the pro players who win 40/40 are moaning so it's not just because people are losing. There is a lot of dodgy stuff within the game engine.
