FIFA 21

As much as I want to condemn the EA employee... can you really blame him? You're talking about a guy working for a third party supplier based in a developing country. The sort of money he has made from this is life changing... and is it even illegal? Sure he'll get fired, but can he actually be prosecuted? I doubt it.

The issue is how unobtainable end game icons have become.

Honestly it all depends what £100 means to you and how much you play the game.

I drop fortunes on Fifa every year, but its disposable income and that spend has zero impact on my lifestyle. I also play probably >5k games a year, so for me there is value in that it makes my leisure time more enjoyable.

You need to weigh that up for yourself.

At the start of the cycle it's fine if you can afford it. At this point in the year, with no promos currently running, it's not going to get you many coins unless you get extremely lucky.

Even with the 2 for 1 packs, they sell out in seconds so you would be lucky to get 1 or 2 purchased.

Sad ******* alert

I'm thinking of dumping £100 into fut, haven't played it for years could I build a decent squad with that?
It's probably worth mentioning that in the scheme of things £100 isn't a lot when it comes to Fifa. I'd guess most YouTubers/Streamers will on average have spent about that much every week since the game was released, so will have spent in the region of £3000 by now. Then you have the extreme ones like Bateson, Castro and a few others that have probably spent around £25,000 on Fifa 21 so far.

I would guess £100 will get you maybe 300,000 coins in FUT unless you get some nice pulls. What do people think does that seem fair?
Since I'm not playing I don't keep track of the prices, so I'm not sure what sort of a team that would get you. But I'd guess, at this stage you'd still have one of the weaker teams.

EA investigating and Sky news and BBC reported on it. I really hope with all the negative press EA have had lately with scripting, loot boxes, gambling and now this it promotes a better game and changes. It's criminal that not everyone can attain certain cards without dropping a stack of money, playing the game constantly isn't enough.

It's luck of the draw really.

I put 12000 points in and got What If Sancho which sold for 1.2m along with various others which put me at 1.6m

Could have easily went the other way though

100%

I don't mind spending being a short cut but at the moment it seems the only way

Already got Prime Ballack from the pick. His PIM makes little sense as it's got attacking workrates and he'll be a donkey compared to other attacking mids.

Yeah, like you say I have (almost) no issue with being able to pay to shortcut getting things as not everyone has enough time to grind everything, so let those that can grind, grind, and those that have some spare cash they can use to shortcut, pay to shortcut. But it's at a point where unless you're a good trader or just get really lucky, you're not getting (m)any of those top items.

Yeah, yet due to a lack of real competition in the football market. Its mad that we have all been drawn into it. It shouldn't carry the element of risk that it does and I'd rather know what I was getting when purchasing a pack.

The odds range they have isn't good enough. I know they might have 82% chance of a 81+ etc but I want to know what the chances in those packs are of an 84,85,86 etc.

Yeah the odds are pointless, very much a tick box exercise for legal reasons rather than EA trying to help it’s customer

Especially when special cards are in packs, the majority of odds just say less than 1% lol

Don't forget the chances of, for example getting a specific 85 card are dynamic based on current market cost.

So the probability of getting a 94 rated Gary Lineker does not carry the same probability as getting a 94 rated Icon Ronaldo for example.

94 rated = market value 1 million is more likely than a 94 rated card costing 5 million

I had no idea this was the case.

It's really not transparent enough.

I'm done on FIFA for this year, its uninstalled. It's been steadily annoying me more and more each weekend and I've had enough now. See you in the '22 thread boys :p
