FIFA 21

It is funny watching Bateson (who must've spent about £40,000 on Fifa 21 by this point) argue that the game isn't pay2win.
His logic is that if he loses a game against a much better player with a worse team then teams don't matter so pay2win isn't a thing.

It seems to be how he "wins" an argument, picks the most extreme example says it's not how it works and thus proves the point wrong.

As I understand it pay2win doesn't mean "you pay £5 you win a game guaranteed", it's more of a case that if pay money gives you an advantage. This is why games like Dota 2, League of Legends and Fortnite aren't considered pay2win as you can only buy cosmetics. In Fifa though better players do help, I doubt Bateson would do as well with a 100k team as he does with his 64m team. And he'll never try it because he knows he wouldn't and it'd ruin his argument. I've seen the likes of Tekkz do WL with an all Silver team (and Icon GK) in Fifa 20. I think he went 29-1 and had to win a few games by penalties. I don't imagine Tekkz goes 29-1 and wins a few games on penalties if he has a 64m team like Bateson's (if he goes as tryhard as he did with the silver team).

Bateson has said that in Fifa 22 he'll do a RTG on his second account (instead of using it purely as a FUT Draft account). Now the Twosync guys said they were considering doing an RTG for Fifa 21 (during Fifa 20), but as it came closer and closer they went from a "Yeah I fancy doign an RTG" to a "I'll probably do an RTG" to "I might do an RTG" to "No we'll just do it like we always do, which it sorta like RTG anyway (they only spend like £250/week on packs)". So yet to see if Bateson actually goes through with it and if he'll do FUT Champs on it if he does.

Yeah, I know content creators often complain there's not enough content (if EA don't give them content they have to be creative themselves, which sucks and who wants to have to put in effort to earn money), but I agree with you. I need more time between content to save up fodder or packs and sometimes I just get a nice team but each promo makes it worse compared to what's out there. The only time you get a settled team is at the end, when you're done.

No idea how that's "sorta" an RTG spending approx 13k through the games cycle.

People like them get found out without spending money they need an advantage.
 
What I don't get is the ones who pump money in and then settle for G3 every week. They could probably do that with a 100k team, so why keep striving for better players if you can't handle the pressure past 14 wins :confused:

Bateson's spend is mental but at least he tries to play all 30 to see how far he can push it.

Yeah, Bateson even makes fun of the people that stop at 14 wins.

But Twosync often stop at 14 wins if things aren't going their way. I think they expect all the BS and every 50/50 to go their way else the game is screwing them. Sorta like they're entitled to favourable treatment because they spend money. I think they'd like the game to be more pay2win than it is.

I have no problem with people spending money on the game and building teams like Bateson's, that's their right and they can do what they like. It's when these people then say that having a good/god team doesn't really help as good players can still beat them. The big difference I feel is that players of a similar skill are much less likely to win if you have a better team. Now I appreciate that there are levels to it and having 98 TOTY CR7 over 97 TOTY Mbappe isn't likely to be a match decider and once you get to a certain level of players/team any gains will be slight, but in tight games that might be the difference between winning in extra time and losing on penalties.

Twosync often say that people that haven't had really good teams don't understand that they don't make as big a difference as people think, which I always find funny as these people have never used average or poor teams to compare.
I remember near the start the Twosync guys were doing "themed" FUT Champs teams, and by that I mean they made teams based on a specific league. This is when it was mostly NIF Gold and a few IF cards, not many promos. Now they were still running 2m+ teams. They did Prem and that was fine, but when they got to Bundesliga they struggled, because there's not a lot of fast meta players in the Bundesliga (when we're talking about NIF Gold cards). They actually decided to stop the idea of doing themed teams half-way through that weekend and went back to building the best teams they could. Was probably only a week or so later before they were telling everyone how teams don't matter.
 
I spent a bit, however that means WL doesnt really matter as the rewards are pants, so I can safely rage at being rubbish/glitches/bad goals and not bother trying to get high rank. :p:cry: Prefer rivals as it seems fairer in that I play, mostly, players of similar skill.

Oh no, TwoSync Matt's contemplating stopping at 11 wins this weekend because the game is against him.
 
I hate this game so bad I feel like I need to post a barrage of clips but it's just pointless it sends me insane I don't rage but this FIFA is the most rage inducing ever.

I'll eek this weekend out and then I'll go on a wim and say If I don't pack a top player in my rewards I'm done til 22. It's not enjoyable when every tackle bounces back yet my opponents AI just blocks everything I throw at them.

lol and you're still going to get Fifa 22, not even pretending you might skip it :D
 
I've only been playing since the 6th May as the game went free on GamePass. My team sucks so I feel I can justify not doing Rivals or WL in this game, but I am now tempted to get Fifa 22 and then I'll feel like I need to do at least WL.

On a side note, as someone with a team costing under 100k I can say that having better players does make a difference. My team is 83 rated and when I did rivals I was matching against90+ rated teams with TOTS. TOTS Benzema can run faster with the ball than my CBs can without it. One through-ball and they're away. I can't help but feel the players used had an impact on me losing that game (well all of them).

Tbh he runs past my 91 rated team as well, its why a lot of folk use WBs as CBs in this flawed game.
 
Got bored and just spent the coins I had, still got a mil left so may pick up Salah or De Bruyne. That Tapsoba card makes me want to build a Bundes team though.
