I caved in and bought it as well after not playing since 19. I’ll stick to SB and rivals until I’ve got a half decent side for champs.

Is trading still possible or is the market now dominated by bots? In 19 I traded my way to a prime Gullit and Vieira team around March/April.

If this year is anything to go by, the bots are buying everything desirable, prime Gullit included!
 
I think transfer market on the webapp needs to go I'm afraid.

Trading gets harder every year, as more and more people get wise to it.
 
Best league for a mid tier squad? I’m mainly running La Liga atm but need to start building towards something better.

Surprised how good Felix’s base card is.
 
Not played a Fifa in many, many years (Fifa 12 on the PC I think). Thinking of picking up a copy for my PS4 Pro while I wait to build my new PC and/or buy a PS5 (also talk of a football winter break due to covid).

But I have two problems.

1) have no interest in the gambling side of things, or any microtransactions for that matter, and
2) will be only playing offline, have no interest in being battered 12-0 by a teenager in Ohio (I dont' have PS plus either)

Is the game worth it, buying for the thirty or so quid it goes for? I fancy playing as Man Utd in a full season, (showing the Glazers how to run a club and finally buying a RW). Is that possible, or is the game a bit rubbish in single player as EA have gone balls deep into the gambling side of things?

It's worth 30 quid if you just want offline play. You may as well pick up 19 though as its pretty much identical and you could just play that on EA access.

I'm tempted by the flashback Ben Arfa although his work rates are terrible.

Don't do it his card is pretty terrible imo. Makes me glad I opted for Aoaur
 
Was it his Fifa 16 or perhaps Fifa 17 TOTS that was godly?

Loved his card back in the day, was tempted for nostalgia reasons but decided against it.
 
Picks and packs were crap except for pogba who I sold. Currently sat on a million coins but not sure what to do with it. I might wait a week or 2 and pick up mbappe.
 
After Quinnay spanked me earlier with 4312, I tried a high depth variant, working very nicely in WL so I will try another new formation for this weekend

Press on poss loss
5 width
7depth
Fast build up
4 width
4 PITB
Both strikers stay forward get in behind
Cam stay forward
Middle cm stay back cover center
Left cm stay back
Right CM (usually an attacker very important) on get forward
Full backs stay back.

It's not for the feint hearted, the best approach is go 2 up and switch to a less aggressive formation. Not sure id say it's meta it's fun but suspect once you play decent possession and patient opposition.
