Fifa officials including vice president Jeffrey Webb arrested, Blatter getting it at last.

I wonder what was promised and to who in FIFA. It may not have been money that was promised but no doubt there were favours and promises along with perhaps turning a blind eye or previous indiscretions that will be forgotten about.

So we have gone from complete denial of corruption, admitting there may be a small number of corrupt individuals, exposure of much more 'than a few individuals' but denying it was systemic, complete denial any of this led to bribes for World Cups......to FIFA admitting bribes were used in WC bidding (none of this is shocking I know) but they are claiming they are the victims of all of these corrupt individuals. When your president, VP, Secretary General and dozens more are all involved - of course it's not systemic and FIFA are the victims :p.

In other news German football federation general secretary stepped down a week before a report was due to be released, probably implicating him in dodgy dealings for the 2006 WC. FIFA have since said they can't rule out bungs were used in the 2006 bid.

I wonder if we will ever see Garcia's report....

Still feel a bit sad that Platini has stooped to this level, given his standing as a player (3 ballon do'r in a row) it seemed better to have him at UEFA instead of the random powermongers who were in change elsewhere like Blatter and Warner. But it turns out that's no protection against greed and corruption.
