FIFA to censor in-stadium replays

Video replays for all or for none.

I don't like the idea of showing them on the big screen to be honest, will just lead to problems with players / fans.

Jurgen Klinsmann made a good suggestion earlier to give the 4th official a TV so he can help the referee if needed, they all have earpieces and microphones anyway.

Censoring in-stadium replays is masking the symptoms rather than curing the disease itself.

just use the chip in the ball which sets of a horn or some noise like in american hockey once its past the line, that wastes no time at all the same can be done with offside aswell

Isn't UEFA still implementing an additional two linesmen next season in the Champions League?

Sepp Blatter is a traditionalist and it will be hard to persuade him of the benefits of goaline technology but it cannot be denied that some action needs to be taken. The whole "it adds to the beauty of the game" is such a terrible excuse. Personally, five officials is a bit stupid - if you've seen the extra men in action they barely have any decisions to make. By using video technology you are not only eliminating their worth on the pitch - you are providing no room for error.

The best use of video technology would be similar to how it's currently used in tennis - three calls per match. I can understand the tactical dis/advantage when teams use calls (timeouts) to break up momentum. But for example this happens frequently in basketball which is a fast game itself and fans have no problem with it. It can also add to the "debate" of the game that Blatter loves so much. Three calls over 90mins is hardly going to affect the game even if it is used for more than just goaline.

I don't really wish ill upon anyone but the sooner Sepp Blatter is gone, for whatever reason (be it illness, death or he's just finally realised what useless waste of oxygen he is) the better for football.

Violence shouldn't be inevitable, but then football players are generally on such a short fuse that you're probably right. The real issue is that there's no respect in football for the difficulty the officials have in following everything that is happening - there is more respect in rugby and a hell of a lot more in something like tennis or cricket.
The one main reason I dislike football in general. The behaviour of most of these so called professionals is disgusting.

If you start doing it for that though, it is only a matter of time before people are saying "but what about using it for offsides".

I dont see why it cant be used for offside. If the attcking team score, there is a break in play so footage can be checked. If they dont score it doesn't matter anyway.

Am I just being thick or aren't Premiership replays already censored? At the Emirates they are at least, if there's a red card or goal ruled out for offside etc it doesn't get shown on the big screen.
