How the hell has he been crap? He has created the most chances than any other player by a long way, his passing has been superb, and bagged 4 goals, also took Argentina to the final almost on his own.

Yep he has been fantastic, tired out towards the last couple of games. He was in the top 5 but probably didn't deserve to win it.

Didn't really seem deserved though potentially he is in a league of his own skill wise when in better physical shape but he didn't really apply it to the game much. Not really followed him too much is he nursing injuries? seemed to be favouring one leg a lot and pulling back from some situations as if afraid of doing damage to himself.

In the final he seemed to be in a bit of an Island as at times he was the only one beating the Germans, laying it off for his team mates to get into a better position but then getting stranded as they couldn't match his skill level.

Nothing sneaky about it, you obviously placed a bet on the 90 minutes market which is a win/draw/win (1/X/2) market. You should have placed the bet on the outright market. All books are the same, you just need to read what you are betting on, if you can't do that, don't bet it's not for you.
