France have only beaten one team in this WC by more than one goal, that was against Uruguay even then Muslera had to help them out.
A lot of this is down to Deschamps's very cautious tactics, arguably a little too cautious given the talent he has at his disposal.
As soon as France go 1-0 up, that's it, bolt the gates, everyone back behind the ball, no more attacks, timewaste, run to the corner flag etc. They've tried this every single time so far in the WC, even against Argentina although Argentina scoring and taking the lead actually brought out the best in France and they got away with it because Argentina can't defend.
But nonetheless Croatia can be given some hope in this match that France will never hammer them and will always keep them in the game.
