FIFA World Cup 2022 Group C ** spoilers ** (Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland)

There’s a woman near the audio feed that really is loving this match by the sounds of it. She’s been squealing so much

Great win by Saudi Arabia!

WTF? I decided not to even put this one on stream while I was doing other things, figured it'd be a boring pummel. Seems I chose poorly!

Well, as shocking as the result is, anyone who watched the game knows that was actually a fair result.

Argentina didn't look like a good footballing team at all, so disjointed. That's what surprised me most. They looked really rough.

Poor midfield. Yes, world cup winning teams need solidity at the back and a decent striker, but the team with the best midfield usually wins or comes very close. The last 4 winners have all been teams with the best, or close to the best, midfields in the competition.

That's why my favourite this year is Spain, and my dark horse is Uruguay.

I know there is a long way to go yet, but I feel like whenever people trot out the arguments that England have been lucky in the draws with powerful teams exiting the competition early and paving an "easy" path for England, we need to point to results like this as to why.

If the big teams don't bring their A game, they are going to land on their backside.
