I don't think it is that. When you can sub on fresh quality legs with the quality Brazil have these small nations have no chance. 5 sub rule completely favours the larger nations with huge strength in depth.
Brazil have brought on Fred, Antony, Jesus and Rodrygo.
Serbia have no chance of matching that.

Agree with Adam up to a point but Neymar is greedy and does what Rooney used to do near the end of his career. Hold onto it too long so that the team loses its shape and has no idea what to do. Instead of keeping the ball moving everyone is waiting for him to decide it’s time to pass.

Brazils squad depth is absurd. Think the only comparable teams imo are England and France. We could all field 2 teams of absolute quality in terms of stats at a club level.

Nah, he just needs to be used as a striker or out wide on the left (from memory Conte keeps chucking him out on the right). I think lots of people who haven't watched him regularly judge him off his somewhat underwhelming goals/assist stats whilst playing for a constantly declining Everton side. Truth is he offers so much more, his work rate and mentality are first class, he is very physical and will never stop trying and most importantly is a very accomplished finisher with both feet and head. It's a great combination of attributes and sets him apart from the rest of the Brazil forwards.
There is a reason Everton fans still worship the guy, he adds so much to a team. He promised he would keep Everton up last season and then backed up with great run of form at the most crucial of moments. He can be a little inconsistent but at the same time seems to be quite clutch !

I miss the old Brazil squads of 2002/2006.
They seemed like an exhibition team akin to the Harlem globetrotters the way they’d pass and show flair.
Tonight’s game was decidedly average against a team (on paper) they should have thrashed. Neymar needs benching for all he added too.

That Brazilian midfield is so strong. I don't feel they were really tested, they certainly don't seem formidable. Early days like of course.
