Tbh it's not the result that bothers me. Enlgland shouldn't expect to beat anybody, let alone Poland.

But making subs on the 85th and 88th minutes... the cautious and ponderous nature of the play... the lack of invention.. lack of players willing to go on runs, take a man on, etc.

It's horrid to watch. It's predicable yet inexplicable, boring, bland.

They've been the better side. Germany's penalty decision could have gone either way and they missed a sitter. Macedonia are doing the small side defend in numbers then counter brightly thing well. Germany have had more of the ball but rarely looked threatening in attack or that solid in defence.

I've said it for a while we're going nowhere with Southgate. We are rarely good to watch, this possession at all costs approach where its like we're afraid to go forward the majority of the time is tedious. 2 DM doesn't work either, but he's sticking with that so expect more dross in the future.

Interesting. I haven't watched but kept my eye on it as the betting line had Germany at 1/10.

I was expecting an easy win, I only bothered tuning in when I saw Macedonia were a goal up. It's been a dismal showing for Germany, well played Macedonia.
 
So, the penalty. He was already going down, his knee was almost on the ground by the time he got touched. Looked a pretty blatant dive to me yet it wasn't even brought up by the commentary team.
 
That german team needs a rebuild, it'll be a while before they're back to their best.

Doesn't help the Werner isn't having a great time in front of goal either.

England/FA golden boys always get treated with kid gloves, it was the same with Rooney. They'll never say a bad thing about Rashford or Sterling for the campaign work they've been involved in.
