Fight Night Round 4

If anyone fancies a game on the ps3 version feel free to add my tag, get quite a lot of abusive messages from playing this game, kids think its cool to taunt and complain when they either win or lose, its pretty funny. :D

Finished my career earlier and retired as the G.O.A.T

Probably sell it now, online just bored me with the spammers and I don't think it's good enough to play through again offline

Been trying to beat Tyson on GOAT for the last 5 hours, I was so close, knocked him down 4 times over the first 10 rounds but he came back and dropped me twice with his evil uppercut of death and I couldn't get up. :(

if you want to be abit of a cheat just set it to 1 round and do your best for 2 or 3 minutes... job done ;)

Not enjoying this as much as I had hoped I would, certainly didn't have the instant  as FN R2 and R3 did, but I'll give it some time and see what happens :)

I will never cheat :p that would just completely ruin it for me. I'm going to bash his stupid face in today though. Then i'm going to start on Ali at GOAT too.

loving the game so far.

one of the easier games to get achievements on, i just put it to 3 rounds and did all the fight now achievements for speed.

Stuggling at the moment in legacy mode, broken into the top 10 but whats the best stats to go for? I am lightweight created boxer, i've got good punch power and accuracy and speed etc, but i can totally dominate a fight then get flattened by a lucky hit in the 10th which is totally annoying.

Having a mare with legacy mode. Went 31 fights unbeaten with 22 KOs and now lost 4 in a row all by 2nd round KO.

Now 6 KOs in a row, 1 against something I've KO'd 3 times myself

maybe you or someone changed the difficulty setting ?
Yep, me :o

Had it set to GOAT and needless to say my boxer with a rating of 73 didn't fair too well. Changed it a few days ago to get the Tyson and Ali achievements and completely forgot.

Anyone finding the heavy bag combo training difficult? I keep missing the the down and right diagonal and it's making it hard to get a champion rating.

I see EA have announced a patch will be coming to let people use the buttons instead of the stick to throw punches.

EA has announced its update plans for the company's recently released boxing game, Fight Night Round 4. The updates take the form of a free content update and a separate patch.

The content update is scheduled for early August and adds a new training gym, new equipment to put on your created fighters, and additional sliders for gameplay adjustments. In the Xbox 360 version of this update, players will also receive an alternate version of Sugar Ray Leonard. The press release is sure to mention that Sugar Ray comes to you courtesy of Pizza Hut, which I can only take to mean that he'll wear P'Zones on his hands instead of gloves.

A separate update due in September will make adjustments to the control options, allowing players to use the face buttons to throw punches. All I can say about that is that anyone who uses this button scheme is a straight-up sucker who is robbing themselves of one of Fight Night Round 4's best aspects. Are you that dense that you can't pick up the existing controls, which have you use the right analog stick to throw punches? Seriously, it's not tough.

Anyway, the new control options seem like the sort of thing that could imbalance the multiplayer. If that's the case, hopefully there will be some kind of online filter. I checked in with EA to ask about that, and the company's response is "we will make further announcements surrounding the button controls in the coming months." So we'll have sit tight and see how it goes.

Exactly.

I'm pleased they're bringing buttons, my best mate and I have got used to the stick but our 2 other 'regular' fight night mates won't play it cos of the stick. Buttons will just mean I have more people to knock out locally :p

yep ive given up on certain training. That one in particular is impossible.
It's been a few days so I imagine you've got it down by now, but for anyone that hasn't - I found looking at the stick as you input the combo makes a huge difference. I was failing miserably at first (and certain I was being robbed as I was sure I'd been inputting the punches correctly) so I changed from looking only at the screen to looking mainly at the sticks and glancing at the screen to read the combo and I went from failing every time to passing with champion grade almost every time.

I am glad they're sorting out a patch for the buttons, although I won't be using it. At least people not familiar with the game will be more inclined to give it a go now that they're not hindered by a tricky control scheme.
