Fighter Plane Game?

Can anyone recommend a fun plane game? I do not want a relaistic flight-sim type game. I just want a fun one where you fly around and blow stuff up. Like the plane part of bf2 for example.

You might enjoy the "Wings over" series of game.

They're sim-lite so you don't really have to spend a great deal of time learning the radar and weapons systems, you can turn it down to arcade settings and you're good to go.

You really should give lockon a go though if modern air combat even remotely interests you. Its well worth the effort.

MS Combat Flight Sim II scales down to near-arcade level if you play with the difficulty settings, I'm sure you could arrive at a balance between realism and fun with it.

OK my dad has that actually, I just presumed it was pure-realism.

TFX was amazing in its day. There seems to be a lack of modern fighter flight sims at the moment. Check out the MS combat flight series, I wouldn't say they are too simulation based. Very easy to pick up.

The learning curve is pretty steep but enjoyable, the tutorials do a very good job of getting you up to scratch and theres a lot of learning resources available.

Good stuff. I'm aileron rolling towards Lockon.

Looks good if I can get the hang of it. My brother has it but he said it was too hard, having to request landing permission etc. I'm not that bad - look what consoles have done to him! He used to be a good PC gamer.
