Fighting Games Thread

Hey guys,

Couldn't find the original thread, which doesn't speak well for its current popularity, so I thought I'd make a new post looking for fellow fighting game players. I only really play Super Street Fighter 4 AE:2012 on XBL, my GT is ThePugz83. I use Ryu so I end up playing mirror matches most evenings, which is why I'm appealing to the folks here on OCUK for players of other characters to have long or regular sets with. I believe I have played with some of you here before, but took a break from it for a while. Well now I'm back! And psyched up to get back into this game. I'm on nearly every night but would prefer you reply here or message me for games if possible. Hope to hear from you guys again!

On a side note: what do you guys think about the state of play for ae2012 on xbl? I dont know if ranked is any different but endless these days seems mostly filled with high-skilled players. Last I played on ranked you either met total noobs or A ranked players and neither scenario was satisfying for me. Too higher ranked and they wont rematch you....

I haven't played in a while but will be getting back to it soon. I play UMvC3, AE2012 and SFxT..few others for fun on the side. I used to play with a few of the guys on here when I was new but I really only play offline these days, the only guy I see that still plays AE now and again on my friends list is elrasho..he plays Abel so maybe try him.

Thanks man. I've got him on my friends actually and he hit me up last night for a game- but I was already in a lobby. I'll keep checking in incase anyone else wants in.

First of all I have a ps3 not xbox.

I play tekken tag 2 and going to get dead or alive 5.

I'm not a massive fan of the sf4 engine games they feel slow to me, can't put my finger on it but I prefer my sf to be a bit more mental. Might get UMvC3 but not sure if I've missed the boat on that one.

I'm also not adept at beat em ups but I enjoy playing them, psn is ukeames.

As far as i'm aware, we've held 4 or so competitions on OCUK, Artheas, myself, and Overmostheads have been winners, can't remember the other?

Overmostheads gets featured on eventhubs quite a bit.

Thanks Ravl I got your friend request. I think I've played overmostheads before; he plays a sick Oni if I remember correctly.

I understand sf4 isn't for everybody. Before trying to actually learn a fighting game i used to feel the game was slow too but now I realise and try at playing the metagame I find the pace perfect for me. By contrast marvel seems to go by at warp speed! If I could keep up with it I'd definitely give it a try since it seems so hype.

Sf4 is my first serious fighting game so as long as people are out there to play it I dont think I'll ever drop it!
