FiiO Olympus 2 E10K

K701s need a full size desktop amp to sound their best since they require a good amount of power. plus the cord would be awakward and they're a little big.

if u get a cheap portable amp, the akgs will sound underpowered, flat, and very thin.

I think you be better off with sound card if for gaming, but first what is your budget around £60?

I'm currently sitting here listening to music through my AKG K702s plugged into a FiiO E10K Olympus 2 and I have to disagree.

Switched to high gain I've got more than enough volume with the dial just under half way and the sound quality is excellent and no thinner than through my Schiit Stack.

Also, if you want a little more bass, the bass boost button is very effective at adding some heft without making the bass sound bloated.

The older E10 Olympus may have struggled with the AKG K702 but the new K version has a more powerful amplifier and powers them without effort.

Great good to hear it works great.
im after a good headset and mic and for £150 is there any better than the 702.

it looks like i can get
Audio Technica ATH-ADG1 Gaming Headset or the 702 or 612.
any input would be great
using onboard audigy soundblaster audio on the gigabyte sniper 3.
