File access difficulties

Hi guys,

I have an external hard drive that i used to back up files off my desktop machine (XP Pro then Vista Business). Now ive got my external hard drive hooked up to my laptop and it wont let me delete files or move them about on the hard drive (I can copy to the laptop or open the files off the external drive). Any way I can change permissions etc to be able to access files on the drive properly?
