File compatibility

Hey guys,

I'm in a situation. I need to do some school work tonight and hand it in tomorrow, but all the files I have on my memory stick are in .docx format, and the only word processing tool I have is Windows 7's word pad, which only accept .rtf.

What I'm wondering is that if I email one of you my work, will you open it in office 07 save as .rtf as email me it back please?

Would be much appreciated.

P.S before you say it I have tried the online converters and they are not working !

The PC is not mine and the owner won't let me download any form of software. Plus the internet is too slow to stream the beta.

some kinda, open office on pen drive? that would do the trick

thinking about it, does google docs, not open docx now?

Yes Google docs will open .docx files.

I just checked and yes you can upload docx to Google Docs.

If you're still struggling and you can email me the files before 5.15pm, i can convert them for you straight away and send them back as rtf. Otherwise i will be back at around 8.30pm and can send them to you then. You can email to my trust address.

yes with the dashes, a-s-i-m.co.uk

and yes, just put anything you want @a-s-i-m.co.uk.

Google docs allows me to open the files, but they contain pictures and it doesn't agree with them.

Could probably have done this with a Linux live CD using Open office.
