I've been using truecrypyt up to now until yesterday when i accidentally deleted the volume file. After unsuccessfully trying to recover my recent data since last backup (tried all my usual recovery apps) i now realise that i need something similar that does not let you delete the volume file easily without a password. Any ideas peeps?

Why not use truecrypt to encrypt the whole partition at least you can't just hit delete on that....

Since truecrypt is just a file you could just backup that whole truecrypt file, this is recommend by truecrypt as outside stupidity hard drive failures happens and not having a backup of important stuff is as we all know a bad idea.

I do regularly backup the truecrypt file, well every few days at least. It's only the recent files i had added to the volume since backup that i lost.
Didn't realise you could make a partitition a volume without creating a file - will give that a shot thanks.
