Hi all. How do I solve this?

My pc crashed while I had a spreadsheet open which resides on my NAS.

Now, it is 'locked for editing' by me, so I can only open it read only. The contents are all correct, but I cannot edit the original file.

How do I fix this?

Thanks
Dan

No, if office has locked it, there'll be a file there locking it

E.g.

not the case after a reboot the file is only a temp

A reboot will not remove an office locking file

Or you could just delete that locking file if it exists and save yourself the hassle. Or if it isn't an actual locking file, and the file is locked open by someone, use the "close open file" functionality that most file servers have (although oddly just checking my synology and can't see a way of doing it)

worked in IT for 15 years..

What has that got to do with anything

If I had to reboot my file server / NAS every time someone had a Locked excel spreadsheet I don't think I would still be in a job anywhere near 15 years :)
