Wireless network setup fine. Internet works fine. I can see all the computers fine. I can open them and view the shares I have created fine.

I click on these shares and get...

\\COMPNAME\Sharename\ is not accessible. You might not have permission to access this network resource. Contact the admin blah blah.

Access is denied.

All computers have File and Printer sharing installed. The permissions on each share have "Everyone" included. I have even gone into advanced and added every possible entity so why should it be denied?

What am I missing?

Thanks :)

A. are you on the same workgroup?
B. are you "wireless" stations isolated? (option on router)
C. can you see/access shared folders/drives vice versa?
D. is windows xp firewall configured for file & printer sharing?
E. what subnet mask has been assigned to your "wireless" station? what IP?

Yes

Have tried both on and off to no avail. What's the diff?

C. can you see/access shared folders/drives vice versa?
I can see the computers, I can see the shared folders, but I can't open the shared folders.

D. is windows xp firewall configured for file & printer sharing?
Yes F&PS is an allowed exception

E. what subnet mask has been assigned to your "wireless" station? what IP?
All computers are 192.168.0.x and 255.255.255.0

One computer is wired into wireless router, another where the majority of shared folders are is running off usb dongle, then I have a laptop with built in wireless.

I've fixed it.

The "Network" permission on the actual hard drive itself had been removed. My fault for messing around :o

All sorted :)

It might be worth running the File Sharing Wizard if you havn't already. It tweaks a couple of settings which you might miss setting things up manually.

I had a similar problem with my network with both XP Home and Pro machines installed. I found on the XP machines I had to open Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy. Then drill down through Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights assignment and open 'Access this computer from the network.' Make sure that 'Everyone' is one of the groups in this policy, if not add it.
