Trying to copy/cut some files onto my external hard drive and keep getting an error saying the file to too large to be copied to the destination folder.

What the?!?

Anyone know how to get past this?

Thanks. :)

How big's the file, and how much free space do you have on the other drive?

FAT32 - guessing it's because of this?

And seems to be any file > 4GB

Plenty of freespace, 339GB

Copy all your files off and format the drive as NTFS. The max file size of FAT32 is 4GB.

Thought it may have been because of it, thanks guys.

Now I just have to copy 600GB of stuff to some where...hmmmmm :(

you can convert the drive without formatting it using the "convert" command.

done it loads of times on production drives.

I take it your internal drive isn't that big/not enough room?

You could use neil's suggestion. Never tried it myself though. Can't remember the last time I saw FAT32 on anything other than a USB drive.

Only 250GB.

Sure I can figure something out, maybe copy it all over only my computer hard drives then format it and copy everything back.

Hmmmm
