File transfer help !

Please be gentle - this is my first post here! I hope this is the correct place?

I've bought a new pc with Win 10 already installed. I wanted to transfer my docs and settings etc. Win Easy File Trans is not in W10. Old pc is Vista.

I'm not sure how to do my Internet Explorer/Chrome Favourites and Bookmarks nor indeed my settings. The c:\user\favorites contains old info.

Please is there an easy file transfer prog that will do the same as Win EFTrans?

I've also lost my MS Office as it's been installed on our three pcs so used up the license. Any way around it pse? - short of buying a new pack!!

I did try a search here but to no avail. Are there any sitesyou suggest for this situation?

Hey John, welcome to the forums

best way to move your documents is to use a USB stick.

copy what you want from your old computer on to the USB stick and then copy them on to the new computer.

what version of Office is it? you might be able to get the product key from office and download the CD\DVD from Microsoft. i never use office so someone may correct this.

I'm having a slight prob actually finding the files on the old pc. I can't find a current favourites directory!! Never mind, I'll start afresh!!
