File uploads failing

Hello all,

Recently I've been trying to get some big files online for my website, but I've been having big problems uploading them.

Google pages fails, in firefox the little status wheel just spins forever but nothing is actually uploaded, in IE it instantly says 'failed'. Using file lodge and similar sites with browser upload systems, when I click 'upload' I get 'Connection reset' from firefox. Without fail.

My PC is behind a linux NAT / firewall box which is probably what's causing the problem, is there a port(s) I need to forward for it to work? Or does anyone know of anywhere i can host 40MB files for free that I can upload to using FTP?

Thanks.

Can you confirm that you mean upload via a web browser, if this is the case i am having the same problem with both IE and FF.

Its used to work but has suddenly stopped.

I haven't found any solution yet. I haven't changed any configuration on my router and i don't use a software based firewall on my PC.

Try using a proper FTP program to do it.

There was an issue with using browsers to upload with sites that limited users to one connection at a time, as I recall the browsers make two connections so that may be at the root of your problems.

There are plenty of shareware or free trial FTP apps out there.

The problem is I can't upload to these sites using FTP (unless I missed it somewhere), if I could I would prefer to anyway as that works fine. I might have a look through all the firefox settings later.
