yo,

I made a video clip myself and once it was saved it had no file extenion . In properties under file type it just says 'File'

It works when put in WMP or VLC and others but still retains no file type.

I want to give it a format to convert to a lower file size.

Anyone help?

I used AMCAP, which is just the default for using a webcam to make clip.

its a clip for a friend but its near 0.5gb so need to be a lot smaller, plus i myt 'Tube' it.

thanks

google gspot, it will tell you the file type (it has a format, decent players will work it out from the contents).

Then fine a free converter to convert from whatever it is to avi or something (divx would be good, if there was a free converter).

open it in gspot (seriously)

it'll tell you in there

post in the windows forum in future, it's full of idiots in GD :p
