Whenever someone links me to something on FileFront I usually just don't bother downloading it. Slow and unreliable service. No loss.

isn't Filefront one of the multiple sites where you had to sign in and register to actually download. Considering there are literally hundreds of those sites which lets be honest all have ever so slightly different password variation, you have to start with a number, a letter, one capital, 3 numbers, whatever. you lose track of passwords and end up not going back.

Gamershell must get hugely more traffic because of no log in, pretty much all files you could need in regards to gaming, demo's, vids of games, etc, aswell as no wait times(i've yet to have to wait for anything). I also pretty much always max out at 10mbps.

+1, great site. As is 3DGamers.

Shame about Filefront though, real bummer to see a site that was around when I got into the PC gaming scene disappear. Lets hope this isn't the start of a trend.

Nope. FileFront is free, no wait time and no typing in letter's/numbers to prove you are'nt a bot. Shame as there are loads of good mods on there. Gamershell is good for patches and demo's but there are nowhere near as many mods on there. Just as well i save all my patches, mods etc to a external hdd.

Agreed. Nearly 50TB and 1.5 million files down the pan...

I really hate to say this but... have you ever downloaded a file from filefront? Filefront is one of the only websites that doesn't do what you've just described and has a lot more mods and rare files than GH3D or 3DGamers does. It's a huge loss imo

I always find it easy to use. Perhaps it depends on what others are downloading / accessing.

Well of course what i mean by "covered" is that there is a new place to host peoples mods and ppl can reupload them to that site. All trek networks were fully backed up by a few people so it will get fuller it will just take a long time.

Meh, i never really ever got good speeds from filefront. Near every file i wanted seemed to be only on american turtle speed servers. Gamers hell on the other hand is a lot better imo.
