After many years, my mums computer has died. The fans have had so much use the bearings are dry, there was no paste on the old AMD XP2100 chip
and the machine took ages to boot despite much defragging ect.

So now its died, a capasitor has burst and leaked everywhere.

Now not one for backing stuff up her 80gb IDE Maxtor has loads of files on it.

The main docs, pictures ect im fine with backing up via the spare ide on my PC. The problem is the Emails she now says she needs!!!

Its running on XP Pro, outlook express. Any idea's where I can restore them from???

Also her contacts if poss???

If not i will have to disconnect all my SATA and boot from the drive and copy everything from there, but im trying to get away with attacking my hardware as its soooo smooth at this time!!!

Cheers in advance

Just do a search *.PST for the email file, then choose 'import' from the new machine and point to that file. Not sure about the contacts.

Oh just remembered your actually outlook folders will be under:

documents and settings/username/local settings/application data/identities/

hope this helps out your problem.
