Case: Anidees AI4 Micro ATX Tower Case

Mother Board: would like somthing that would allow me to overclock in the future, 1 PCI-e x16 is fine.

RAM: 8 or 4 gigs, if four, will be upgrading in the future

CPU: AMD A10-6800K Black Edition 4.10GHz (Socket FM2) APU Richland Quad Core Processor

HDD: something at 1TB

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 430W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

Budget is £350

The PC will mostly be used for gaming and I will buy a graphics card at some point in the future. This should hopefully be fine for now.
 
Okay..

If you're planning on adding a GPU at a later date i would suggest against the APU.

While the APU has great on board graphics its not a great overall CPU.. So when you come to add a GPU it will/may bottleneck it.. which means it'll underperform.

Hes an example, this is a 3D mark score for a 7970 paired with a A10 5800K (stock-ish): http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4693452

Heres the same GPU but with a 6300: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7151329

That is a 1700 point (20% difference)..

The thing is the CPU cost the same too (though the 6300 won't have great graphics as it relies on the motherboard for that)...

That is why i would suggest against an APU if you know within 6 months you're going to add a GPU.. I would spend a bit more money now to get the best out of the rig later..

I hear you.

My problem is that I'm 16, its impossible to get a saturday job and it could be a year before I even think about a GFX card.
I need something thats gonna keep me going till then and £350 is all the money I'll get for christmas and my birthday combined, I have no other income. hopefully wkingsnorth will get bored of his 670 4gbs and sell one to me for £2.80 :D. If the APU option is slightly less upgradeable, then so be it.

What you really want is an FM2+ board to give you Kaveri support when they are released in January. But they cost £90 for the one listed at OcUK.

Thank you for the explanation.

As the GPU may be a way away i think stulids above spec is perfect for you, though if you can push the budget a little more getting an FM"+ ready motherboard will help your upgrade path much more. :)

The FMn+ boards has been mentioned a lot.
I will have to look at the circumstances nearer the time.
meanwhile, If anyone want to give me a saturday job, please go ahead.
 
These guys know more than me regarding hardware these days, but just thought I'd pop in and say, I feel your pain. I'm also 16 (well, 17 in 4 months but still!) and you can only work like 2 hours a week day :(

I don't think OCUK have any in stock, the rules prevent us from linking competitors.. The list stulid linked is a good place to start.. They can be found elsewhere..


EDIT: Are you dead set on that case, its just because the Fractal Arc Mini R2 is the same price and in my eyes much better for a matx build. OCUK don't stock that either. :(

The only FM2+ board listed is the Gigabyte A88 Sniper, its £90 and ATX.

Dont touch ASRock FM2 boards as they have a habit of blowing up.
