I work in a mental health hospital, we have a patient who enjoys anagrams, random letters and finding all the words ect. These anagrams are made up by staff and the current one appears to be quite difficult.

ENMAGHRELOYLVAWSW
"Old Movie"

This is what you have to work with, there are no additional clues, no breaks in the letters suggesting separate words.

We've no idea who wrote the letters on the board, as far as we know they haven't been tampered with but absolutely no-one can get it. We can make the word "Overanalyse" which is amusing as we were discussing that "Old Movie" is hugely subjective depending on age of the general staff and the patient in question, the patient is around 70ish. We also assume that all letters are to be used as on the board, it doesn't state otherwise.

We tried some anagram solvers but came to the conclusion it's something obscure if it is one word and if its several, on a quick look the websites/apps we tried werent advanced enough.

Anyone able to get it?

You can get holy avengers out of that but I think there is a letter or two missing. I'm normally good at anagrams but can't make any sense of it. Yellow or green is another obvious keyword.

Must be a non dictionary word in there otherwise. Savoy comes to mind but still nothing. Lawman fits the old style.

My new shallow grave?

When the clue say 'old movie' is it a movie set in old times, like a WW2 film/costume drama etc or old as in, made in 40s? That sort of thing. I also notice that that there are only 5 vowels. To me and my limited knowledge of our vocab and dictionary I would assume we are talking roughly 3 word film title or at worse a 5 small word title.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest?

2 Ws
2 Ls
V, Y, G and H...
Been through everything from 1900 to 1999 - Anything older is too obscure and anything more recent certainly ain't old!!

Is it another term for an old movie, rather than the title of one, perhaps?

Either that, or you're being had and it's really Ewoks: The Battle For Endor!!!

You can make "was here" out of it but the rest don't make up any kind of name or nickname I could imagine heh (unless you know an amy or molly with a very strange last name).

Just a thought - could either the person who put it up be an idiot, someone have wiped the YE from the beginning - or possibly the letters from Old Movie also be included in the anagram?

Does seem like the only thing that makes sense is the extra 2 letters to make "How Green Was My Valley" as mentioned above.
