Films in 3D.. what are your thoughts!!

It's a good way for film-makers to make an abysmal film seem great.
(the new 3d tech, not the late 80's headache fest :D )

I hate it, the glasses give me headaches after a while...
I just want to watch a film, not mess around with crap glasses to see an effect which isn't that amazing.

I'm not a huge cinema buff so I don't know a lot of the jargon terms but all the recent 3D movies I've seen they give me a pair of these black glasses with a shiny silver-ish lense and it just makes all the movies kind of look flat, but stick out, almost like a pop out book. Or actually a better term to describe would be like the graphics in the Playstation game Parappa the Rappa.

I love the technology. '4D' is much better though (lot of them in Theme Parks etc and there is one at the London Eye)

Saw the 4D film at the London Eye at the weekend - I was quite impressed! Very much looking forward to seeing Avatar in December. I don't think there's any need to make everything 3D in future, but for the odd movie it's great.

Watched Ice Age3 in 3D with my little boy. He smudged his glasses with finger prints after scoffing sticky sweets and so I had to swap glasses with him :)

The 3D was better than I thought it would be but still a gimick.

I can't work out whether 3D is good or not for films. Obviously its good for cinema but only the top-end studio productions can utilise it. Low-budget Independant movies won't/can't use it so they may suffer in the future.

Not that I'm against new technology or anything.

It's not whether or not it's good for film that matters, it's whether or not it's good for the consumer. This, only the individual can decide.

I went to see The Final Destination in 3D, and while the effects were pretty good, it felt as though the refresh rate had been halved.

Serious, serious flickering going on, it was painful to watch after about 20 minutes. No one else seemed to notice though...

Avatar looks like it has the potential to be amazing and a big step forward in 3D films, am looking forward to this one hitting the flicks.

Apparently its going to come in as the fourth most expensive film ever

i'm really looking forward to this film, i've been to the cinema once in the last 10 years and that was a couple of months ago to see inglorious ********, although, i went to IMAX in London a few years ago too to see Ghosts of the abyss in 3D, which was great, but yea, i'm definitely going to see avatar - hopefully at an Imax for the best viewing pleasure.

Though not strictly a film I did see U2's 3D concert a while back. Was my first taste of 3D since Jaws 3. Was amazing. No gimmick's with things flying at you like in the 80's. Just felt like you were there. Like you could reach and touch the band.

Watched My Bloody Valentine 3D a while back. Lots of entirely redundant shots of chain link fences in the foreground and actors going "OH LOOK BEST POINT MAH GUN/FLASHLIGHT/PICKAXE AT THE SCREEN" and one utterly fantastic shot where it feels like a bullet is coming out of the screen at you, the camera swings around it, and it goes back in. So in conclusion, the technology is pretty awesome, I just saw a rubbish film.

It's ok, saw Final Destination 3D, despite the film being terrible, the 3D looked decent in some parts. Got my eye on Avatar for December :D

just watched the Meatballs 3d film, that was fantastic, really loved it, with a lot of laughs all way through the film :)

Went to see Night of the Living Dead 3D on Friday and it was the worst film I have ever seen in my life. The acting was just too horrific!!!
