I'm somebody that really listens to melody in music and as such I'm a sucker for moody, moving, harrowing music in films.

What can you guys suggest for films with good scores?

So far I'm thinking (in no order)

K-Pax
Jurassic Park (lol)
Solaris
Plunkett & Macleane
Romeo & Juliette (modern version with Di Caprio)

Hannibal

And Meet Joe Black, although I think they borrowed their sound track off another movie if I remember correctly. Love that film though, was so underrated.

Listen up

T2
Last of the Mohicans
HEAT - Amazing soundtrack all the way through
Aliens - Much underated
Braveheart - Although main theme ruined by the dance versions of the late 90's
Road to Perdition - Amazing soundtrack by Thomas Newman

'Dancer in the dark' It's a film which features Bjørk (give it a chance) - probably the most harrowing film I've seen, but it's the sound track which does it, absolutely beautiful.

Also, It's not harrowing, but definitely thought-provoking: 'waking life' - Awesome soundtrack.

gooood

How on earth did I forget this..... absolute classic

Not really in the same vain as most of the other stuff but one of my favourite soundtrack style pieces of music ever, huge influence of the music I make:
