Shawshank Redemption for me too and I wouldnt be suprised if this was top of the list as it never really took off in cinemas but was revered in later distribution.

Crash (2004)

Only saw it a year or so ago and totally missed it when it was released.
Every time I saw it's name I foolishly assumed it was that tripe film about people who got some weird sexual kick from car accidents.
Superb film that everyone should see imho.
