Filter Coffee

Hi all,

I have recently started drinking filter coffee and was wondering which coffee's you would recommend. So far I have tried a double chocolate one (wasnt very nice), a morrisons fair trade italian roast, carte noire and douwe egberts.

Douwe Egberts has been my favourite so far, but what is your favourite.

My (current) fave is Bolivia Finca Loayza 2011 from Has Bean, home ground, Aeropress made, perfect.

Do yourself a favour, if you care at all about coffee, buy a Porlex hand grinder, an Aeropress and whole beans from http://hasbean.co.uk/

With the hand grinder can i grind the beans then use them in a cafetierre?

Of course, that's exactly what it's designed for.

If you don't want to be spending ridiculous amounts of money taylors coffees are very nice, especially their south american blends.

Been drinking the Starbucks Columbian ground coffee for about 2 years now. Find it excellent in a percolator. Nice rich flavour but not overpowering. Haven't felt the need to go beyond it having tried a few others.

If you have any proper coffee places nearby, the ones that sell the beans loose, ask and see if they have any kind of sample size or taster kit, that might let you try a few and see which you prefer...

All good roasters, but for me it is Hasbean. Great beans, freshly roasted, delivered quickly, taste fantastic!

The my favourite coffee at the minute is SD bell's light roast monsoon malabar or the san Agustin .Also don't let the espresso people put you of the filter.Old Mr bell recommends the filter for the real top of the range coffees ie Pure single estate Kona and real Jamican blue mountain .

BTW the Kona and the JBM are the real deal when they come in the barrel from the JBM is put on display as is the sack from the Kona

Boyfriend's parents just got back from a caribbean cruise and brought him some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, he says it's great
