Firstly you'll have to remove that link as you can't hint at competitor pricing on this forum (read the rules), i suggest you post it as this:

Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Be Quiet DARK ROCK 2 57.9 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler
Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste
ASRock B85 Pro4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Corsair 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
MSI GeForce GTX 770 4GB Video Card
Antec One ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Samsung SN-208DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer

Total: £1081.01

I think you've messed up somewhere along the line in your thinking..

Can i ask some questions:

What is the rig for? Gaming? Editing? CAD?

Are you wanting to upgrade this in a year or so time (add another GPU) or will it just be as is for the next few years? (not a bad thing atall)

I'd really consider buying it all from one (or two if the savings are that good) place. Firstly, any RMA/DSR is easy to deal with and you will pay less shipping. Even though that website said it toook shipping into account, trust me, it hasn't.

What is you're overall budget?

I already removed the link, sorry about that.

- This rig is mainly for Gaming.
- I would not want to upgrade for a while I guess..
- Exactly, my ideal solution would be to buy it all from the same place.
- My overall budget is around £1,000.

Thanks for the build, if I changed my budget to £1,100 would it be possible to get a better PSU, CPU cooler and maybe GPU?

The R9 outperforms the 770?

Between these two,

They'll perform the same (really) but RJC's has the ability to add another 280x in.. Mine doesn't..

Personally i'll stand by mine but either/or really you're not making a bad purchase atall.

I think I am going to go with RJC's build, is there any changes you guys would make to it before I buy it?

Well I can only imagine the noise of my current computer is a lot louder than my potential new one so I don't think that's a problem.

I did change my post;

"I think I am going to go with RJC's build, is there any changes you guys would make to it before I buy it?"

I guess it's between;

Decisions, decisions :D

I went with a larger PSU so you won't need to worry about adding a second GPU and wonder if your on the limit.

I am telling myself to go with the 290, I saw a benchmark test and it said the 290 outperforms the 780 by 1%, not a lot but it's cheaper, and I get a copy of BF4 for free.

Help me RJC, I am spending a lot of money and I really have no idea on which one to take!

The 290 kicks out a ton of heat, the card is optimal around 90c or something, thats a small case which will heat up fast, Haswell is a hot chip. That CPU cooler is great but its not a real Haswell killer of a cooler, not sure how well that case air cools either, its a Corsair case so im guessing its going to be fairly decent.

I have a Phantek Enthoo Primo, its a big case, it has 5 x 140mm fans, my 290 is stock, since installing the 290 my temps have risen on average by 4c at ambient levels, i have an Antec Kuhler 920 with 2 Enermax PWM fans cooling it. When i was running my 7870 in the case my i5 2500k @ 4.4ghz was idling around 28c and hitting 58c or so gaming, since adding the 290 my 2500 at the same clocks idles around 34c and hits close to 70c gaming.

I am waiting for my z87 RMA before i put my 4770k into action, at this point i am going to watercool my GPU and cpu with a full custom loop because in all honesty i just dont think my Kuhler 920 will cope on a quiet profile and i just dont want the noise.

So if your happy to have a loud, hot noisy PC then go for the 290, if however you dont want as much heat and a fairly quieter rig, go with the Nvidia option.

Simples

That has totally put me of the 290, is there much of a performance difference between the 780 and 290?

I am not too sure I will overclock right off the bat as I do not know a clue about it. Would anybody change anything on Fulax's build?

I would like to thank everybody who has helped me, I have received advice from around 3-4 different forums/friends and the amount of builds I have been recommended was incredible and sometimes plain stupid.

I think I will be going with your Fulax, is "Gainward" a decent way to go or should I change that?

As Doomed said, the Gigabyte card has the better cooler and they have a UK-based RMA service if anything goes wrong. The benefit of the Gainward would be that it is overclocked higher out of the box.

If you'll be overclocking further yourself (as I said, it isn't difficult) then you might as well go for the Gigabyte; if not, the Gainward's extra out of the box performance could swing it.

It's your call, in the end. Personally I suppose I'd go with Gigabyte for the RMA service.

I have heard bad things with the Gigabyte, I think I might go for the gainward as it's OC'ed, is there support bad, if I have a problem do I contact OCUK or Gainward?

Actually, I seem to remember OcUK having some kind of express 48-hour RMA service with Gainward with a month of purchasing. Something like that. I'm not sure if it is still running, but I'll try to find the thread.

Hopefully I do not need it!
